All Products in NMNL March Beauty Box 2017
Theme: Sakura
Here are my first impressions of the products I got in the March NMNL box!
1. Wayumeguri Sakura Bath Salt
This was actually the first thing I pulled out from the box. I felt the packet and I immediately thought I must have received some pink sugar candy. But nope, it was pink bath salts. In a really pretty packaging. I think it is about 45g worth of bath salts, if I am reading the instructions on the back correctly.
I don't have baths, and I certainly do not have a bath tub. So I will put these bath salts to good use to a good hot bath...for my legs. And anyway, people do soak their feet even at hot springs right? So there, that's how I will attempt to replicate the Japanese hot spring experience in my small cube of a home.
2. Ichikami Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner Travel Set
One thing, it smells heavenly. The scent is really sweet & peachy. That way, I probably can put my hair perfume from Etude House to rest awhile.
And, ooh travel set. Travel sets are like samples which you can use to try and see if your body/ skin/ hair takes well to the products. And then you buy the full size version if it works well. Or at least that's how it works for me.
Another thing is, I always have a practice to alternate my shampoo because I once heard from somewhere that otherwise, your hair gets used to the products and you won't see any effects thereafter. Also, it is a silicon and sulfate free shampoo so it will be more gentler on the hair.
So, this will come in useful. In fact, I'm going to insert it into my bath products lineup now.
3. Sakura Harenohi Hand Care Gift Pack
I think this makes a perfect Valentine's Day gift, if the box could be delivered before Feb 14th. The hand care set comes in a pleasant floral design packaging tied up with a simple pink grosgrain ribbon bow.
Packaging, tick.
New beauty product to try (and from Japan), tick.
No need to source for new gift ideas or go last minute shopping, tick.
Small and handy enough to carry in makeup bag or leave at work desk, tick.
To me, this gift pack is the perfect kind that I will give to my close female colleagues or BFF.
I have colleagues who religiously apply hand creams throughout the day because we work in an air-conditioned office all day long which is extremely drying for skin. And carry those tiny bottles of hand sanitizers out when they go for lunch. So, its perfect.
4. Sakura Hand Towel & Cleaning Cloth
Okay, so far I've been feeling the high from the products while taking them out and examining them one by one. But when I reached this little box set, I just...don't feel it. I'm sure it is a handkerchief and a spectacles cleaning cloth because the two pieces of cloth are just the small square kind. I really am not sure how I can use these items.
The patterns definitely make them too pretty to be sitting around in the kitchen as a cloth.
5. Gensen Labo Hydrating Sea Kelp Toner
The toner was the last one I took out, as it was deep in the bottom of the box and rightly so, because it is the heaviest item. At first glance, it really reminds me of the makeup and toners they sell at Daiso! Because they have similar packaging to me. But this toner is by Gensen Labo. I think they sell it at Sasa too.
It is 180ml of toner which is alcohol-free and scent-free, which should be about 2-3 months' worth of daily use. I will use this for my no makeup days for a light and refreshing skincare routine.
Sea Kelp is a type of seaweed and it not only moisturizes the skin but also helps to keep moisture in, so it is good for those with dry & sensitive skin. I don't usually look for marine plants as an ingredients when I look for skincare, so I will try this and review the results with you!
6. Choosy Gold Pearl Lip Pack & Peach Lip Pack
I thought this was a lip tattoo kind of product! The packaging is so attractive, with the high gloss images of those full lips screaming out to me: Your lips can look like that! Because one was in pink lipgloss and the other was in coral lipgloss, I just assumed that it was a product where you could stick the template on your lips for fuller lips.
But what a nice surprise, the two lip packs are actually lip masks by Choosy. These lip masks have been around the market for quite a long time, and I think they sell for 100yen in Japan for 1 pc per pack. There are other flavours but I got Peach and Gold Pearl.
I suffer from really dry lips all year round, and sometimes lip balm just isn't enough. Not to mention, I do have a problem with constantly licking my lips out of habit. Will this lip mask help to smooth out those fine lines and moisturise my lips back into smooth rosebuds? I will be exfoliating my lips and trying out the lip masks, and posting my reviews here so check it out!
